Meet the Chef
Chef Manager Jade Griego
Jade Griego, chef manager at The Grove at Governor Pointe, spent his formative years working everywhere from upscale steakhouses to four-star Italian restaurants to hone his craft. Upon moving to San Diego in the spring of 2010, he helped open a Mexican restaurant commissioned by Carlos Santana. He then branched out to run kitchens in award-winning cafés and restaurants in La Jolla Shores, Del Mar, and East Village. Jade spends his time with his wife of seven years and their dog and is also an avid outdoorsman who likes to camp, surf, golf, and fish.
sustainability
Sustainability is central to how we operate. With over a dozen local farms and artisans within 150 miles of the café, by dining with us, you are supporting your local community. But we don’t stop there: our chicken is raised without the routine use of antibiotics, our bacon and pork products are always gestation crate-free, we source all of our fish in accordance with Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch, our ground beef is humanely raised, and our eggs are cage-free. Our menus are designed to help us fight climate change, and our kitchen is primed to fight food waste with Waste Not™.
